TOWIE couple Amber Turner and Dan Edgar confirmed they had gone their separate ways after six years together earlier this week but now potential reasons behind their split are doing the rounds.

The reality stars calling time on their relationship may not have come as a shock to some fans as eagle-eyed followers seemed to be aware that the couple had hit troubled waters when Dan unfollowed Amber on social media.

Amber confirmed the rumours with a short statement which read: 'I wasn’t going to post anything but due to speculation and questions I feel like I need to. Yes, me and Dan have split.

'I honestly wish him the best for the future. Please respect our privacy at this time. Thank you.' Dan on the other hand decided to go down the route of silence and is yet to comment.

Now a source has claimed that the reason Amber and Dan have split is because he wouldn't settle down and propose to the blonde beauty. A source told The Sun: ‘Amber has been desperate to settle down for years now, but Dan has always been hesitant.

‘She was convinced a proposal would be coming soon after they moved into their dream home together… But Dan has failed to make the changes he promised to make for Amber and still seems undecided about the future.'

The source added that Amber has ‘lost patience’ with Dan and that she doesn’t want to ‘waste anymore time’ on someone who isn’t ‘ready’ to settle down.

Amber and Dan had a long and well-documented relationship after they started dating in 2017 with the TOWIE film cameras firmly fixed to them throughout all their highs and lows.

One of those lows came in the form of cheating scandals after fellow TOWIE star Ella Rae Wise warned her co-star 'not to trust' Dan after claiming he acted inappropriately towards a friend of hers in a nightclub.

Speaking to MailOnline at the time Ella said: 'Dan needs to keep his hands to himself really. He shouldn't touch up other girls when he has a girlfriend.

'He was hands-on and given he has a girlfriend, it was inappropriate. With his track record, I don't know how she can allow her man to go out.'

The former couple had seemed to be in a good in a good place as just before Christmas they purchased their 'dream' Essex mansion together.
