TheSwitch Axecan switch into to two modes. Some notable features about the two modes to consider when creating a build are as follows:
- The Axe mode has good reach and mobility It is a complex weapon with two forms and a phial system.
- Sword mode has extra damage and uses the phial's bonus.
- The switch axe morphs between axe and sword modes.
- Axe mode boasts power and long reach, while sword mode features faster attacks and explosive finishers.
The two forms must be considered when creating a build. One skill to consider is theRapid MorphSkillwhich is especially paired with this weapon type giving it the abilityto increase switch speed and power for switch axes and charge blades.
Switch Axeis a pretty mechanically complicated weapon and is one of two weapons designed to be able to switch between two different weapon modes (the other being the Charge Blade). Switch Axe seems to be a weapon designed to exploit monster weaknesses and break specific parts. Between the ability to choose between different Phials with various effects, and the ability to latch onto specific parts of a monster in order to perform a Zero Sum Discharge, youare able to deal a massive amount of damage of your choosing to specific body parts that are especially weak to whatever kind of damage you are dealing.The one main downside to the Switch Axe is the fact that it is one of the only weapons in the game without a proper counter/shield to protect you against monster attacks. With this in mind, Switch Axe is going to benefit the most from some really niche skills that complement its unique playstyle while also giving it the means to escape incoming monster attacks.
MH Rise Switch Axe Elemental / Status or Raw Damage?
For Switch Axe, you could really go with either elemental/status or raw damage and not have much of a gap in DPS. In general, raw damage does more DPS than elemental/status, but this is pretty much the case for every weapon. Elemental Switch Axe really shines when it is properly paired against monsters that are weak or susceptible to whatever element/status you are using. Elemental builds are more than capable of dealing more DPS than raw damage builds when you take full advantage of a monster's elemental/status weaknesses.
Mhrise Switch Axe Damage Build
This build optimizes the damage output of the main Switch Axe Weapon chosen for this build, Rampage Slicer S, adding Attack Boost and Weakness Exploit. Adding a Talisman with Evade Extender can also increase mobility with both forms since this weapon has two forms to consider.
