"It's also important to be mindful of sodium," says Sassos. Opt for salt-free spice blends when reaching for taco seasoning or Cajun seasoning to keep sodium amounts down. If you're extra conscious of your sodium intake, try swapping jicama slices, a crunchy root vegetable, for tortillas, which are sturdy enough to hold up to tasty fillings like curry- and coconut-scented fish and vibrant cabbage slaw.
